MUST WRITE
Okay, so I will never again say I'll be back soon... because it will probably be a lie. Unintentionally, of course. I've been intending to post since I said I would, but I never get around to it... and really, intending to do something doesn't help getting it done.

Anyway, don't got a lot to share. Life's been pretty slow, but I'm going to speed it up. Honestly, I AM going to get things done this weekend. I will, I will, I will. I better.

Poor Calvin
Don't have much to say, but...

School is coming. Groan. I've just got one last weekend. :(

Over the last few days I've been reading a lot of fan fiction (Twilight series) and I've started little things, but finished nothing.

Last night we watched Stardust. I really liked it. Everything was just so neat, like the way the inn (in the middle of nowhere) popped up, and the lightening-catching guys and stuff... Maybe I'll have to add it to my reading list now.

We're taking down the Christmas decorations tomorrow. :(

I still have homework. :(

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S!!!

It's 2008. Huh.

Anyway, I don't have a lot of time now but I thought I'd mention two of my biggest pet peeves from 2007.

1 - The expression 'that's gay', referring to something dumb or annoying (negatively). I can't stand that people use homosexuality in such a negative way, it just makes me GRRRRR. I'm not expressing myself very well right now, but let's just say I really, really hate it.

2 - My sister. Only sometimes. Maybe 50% of the time we get along pretty well, but she really annoys me often. Particularly her understatements. A few days ago we were driving on the high way and we passed this big, flaming truck. It was really on fire, like in a movie. We didn't stop because there were already cars behind it, but as we drove past my sister said "That's not good." Ya think? It just really bugs me.

More later, probably.

I hope everyone is having a great New Year's Day, I know I really enjoyed last night because Hairspray is so upbeat I just felt like dancing all night long... Another to add to my list of favourite musicals.

Have a great day and happy 2008!

As 2008 Swiftly Approaches...

Well, it's already 2008 in Europe. But since I'm not in Europe, I've got a few hours to get a lot of posting done because I have been AWOL for way too long.

So, I won NaNoWriMo 2007. I got my 50,000 words after a whole lot of procrastination and suffering. I spent a lot of the month staring at the keyboard and got so very close to taking out all the keys to clean it because I made such when I sat at the computer eating instead of typing.

The story sucks, though. Well, there isn't really any story to suck or not suck, anyway. I basically skipped the middle since I didn't plan that far in advance because when I do, I always get tired of the story before I even begin writing (yeah, messed up, I know) and, as you can imagine, a story with a beginning of about 47,000 words, no middle, and an ending of 3,000 words probably isn't the greatest. At all.

Anyway, I haven't done any writing since then. At first I really was busy, but then I just got lazy. Recently I've been reading a lot. But not finishing books. I've got over five on the go, I'm sure, but some of them I haven't touched in a few weeks. Which I hate. It's not even that the books are horrible, I just start a new one and forget about it or kinda grow tired of it. I know it's not a crime not to finish reading a few books, but it feels like it to me so hopefully I'll read those within the next week (before I go back to school 8|)

Um, I picked up a new fandom. Yeah, like I need another. Maximum Ride. It's about a girl with wings and her 'flock'. There are some really great, witty (at least to me) lines in there. I will find some for next post.

No big plans for tonight. We're going to watch Hairspray then listen to the radio.

More later.

If not 'til tomorrow, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

BLECH

Recently everything in my life (outside of school) has been so sporadic. My writing and computer habits are insane.

I get maybe three days of good writing (most likely over the weekend), then I absolutely FAIL Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and get back on track on Friday/Sat/Sun. I don't know what is with me, it's insane. And so far, I've been on the NaNo forums only like three times. In the whole half of the month. It really is insane!

Everything is mixed up; my novel feels good then horrible then just pure BLAH (that's where I'm at now). I don't know what I'm doing. I just need to get this novel done and I will happy. But it's been so hard to keep writing! I haven't thought about actually giving up on the whole thing because I'm too stubborn, but if I don't want to write, I really can't do anything to stop myself. It's terrible that I've finally discovered I actually have more power over myself than my wordcount does.

Novel is feeling blah right now. So am I. I have new ideas I want to incorporate somehow, but I feel just too tired to do it! But not too tired to fool around on the computer elsewhere. Hmph.

My novel really does suck. I know that. Most of it is made up of thoughts, rather than description or action or - ohmygosh - dialogue! I can't write dialogue. I'm too much of a hermit, I think. And I have trouble writing in the moment. I dictate everything instead of showing and it is driving me CRAZY.

I don't know what's happening, I'll come back when I do. Or maybe just as soon as I've written something.

PS - wordcount = 31,589 (goal for today was 40k, though I had also wanted to have 50k by now at one point) I've written 1.5k in the past three days.

Wow, it's been a while.

I'm about to eat supper. I'll just say, then, that I'm alive, I survived my thirteenth birthday (contrary to my predictions), and NaNoWriMo planning would be going great if I had done anything (I haven't done anything).

Cameras are so much fun

I haven't actually used the video camera much, because I really don't have anything to video tape. Actually, I guess I could film the storm outside. I like storms.

It's windy and rainy except now it almost seems like it's getting less-stormy outside. NOoooo! I really, really like storms.

Anyway, I took some random pictures last night )

M&Ms are fun. They're so pretty and colourful and tasty. I couldn't use any more for the pictures because my dad ate the rest.

I've made thirteen posts in the past almost six months (I'm counting since Easter) and each one of them is rambly boring. That is sad.

I fail at LiveJournal.

We got a video camera today. The battery is still charging. I can't wait to play with it. :D

Apparently the NaNoWriMo boards will be archived.

Maybe I over-reacted a little. I'm so clingy.

Anyway... ow my elbow.

I don't have anything unboring to write. >:|

I feel depressed

Sad
The NaNoWriMo forums are being wiped tomorrow (at least, I'm pretty sure it's tomorrow) to make room for National Novel Writing Month '07. I know they HAVE to clean everything, but it makes me so sad that we can't even have an archive or something. I know it would take up too much space, but I have a year's worth of memories on the NaNo boards (a group of us stuck around all year) and I reaaaally don't want them all to be wiped clean from everywhere but my mind.

I'm one of those clingy people, who tend to be pack-rats because they hate the idea of forgetting or losing the past. I don't like having to count on only my memory. My mind's filing system is really unconventional.

As a side note, today I had to wear pants. I haven't worn pants for a full day since... May or so, maybe.

Hehehe, whoops, that sounded funny. In case you were worried, I haven't been walking around naked for four months, I've just been wearing shorts and t-shirts.

I'm not feeling super excited about fall right now, but happy autumn anyway!

Ugh, today's the one day I had something good I could do, and we're going to be away the whole day because my sister's got an away soccer game.

My life bores me a lot. The most exciting thing I've done today was like... smearing dandelions on my legs.

On another, not-at-all-related note, my dad comes home tomorrow. He's been gone for thix weekth now. And I've developed (one or two Pth?) a typing lithp.

I'm tired of long poth-t-ththththh, tho...

Over and out.

Back From Summer Already

I'm alive.

So I thought I should update in case someone thought I was dead, which would be a perfectly reasonabl thought considering I've been away for about two months. (Wow, it feels like a lot longer than that.)

I've got a lot I could write about, but I'll probably save it all for later, because I'm too lazy now.

I guess I should write something, though.

Well... School started on Tuesday. I've already got a pile of homework. I didn't actually get much done this summer, so there's still a lot I want to do, but I only have a little while before NaNoWriMo. I'm worried about school. I'm worried this year will be worst than last. I had one main friend last year, but now her other friends are in our class, so I'll probably be kinda friendless for the whole year. It's not that nobody's friendly, they just all already have other friends.

I haven't done any writing, aside from one piece of fanfiction. I've been reading too much this past week, so I haven't written anything. Hopefully I'll find more of a balance this week, so I can get some things done before NaNoWriMo (it's kinda the ultimate deadline for me right now).

I wish it was still summer.

I always feel like I need more time, but I had bags of it this summer and I wasted most of it. So I guess I'll just have to make good use of my time this year. And hopefully I'll get more done.

I've been on the computer too long, I should go.

Hopefully I'll update more often now, but I make no promises. I'll probably be very busy wasting my precious non-school hours.

Anyway... That's it for now,
Kaed.

It's time for my Harry and the Potters' trip entry. It shouldn't be too long because I didn't actually get too many good pictures. :( I guess that just means I have to see them again someday... hopefully soon.

I went to the Harry & the Potters concert. It was AMAZING but I'll write about the whole trip tomorrow when I'm not so tired.

Mmso... My dad's back from Thailand. I don't think I've mentioned that. He was working in Thailand (and a bit in Malaysia) and was gone for more than two months, but he's back now. :)

Oooh! I got all the fabric for my robe. It's shiny and purdy. We (me and my mom) have alread finished sewing the outer black layer, now we're working on HUFFLEPUFF YELLOW! I'm glad we're almost done, though: sewing gets kinda really frustrating for me after not very long. Oh, and I'll post pictures of the finished product when it's done.

What else's new? I'm reading The Riddle by Alison Croggon right now. It's the sequel to The Naming, which is also very good. I need to read the book pretty fast, though, 'cause I still want to reread all of HP before Deathly Hallows comes out in like NINETEEN DAYS!!!! So yeah. I've also devised this fancy plan thing on how exactly I'm going to read Book 7, but I don't feel like explaining right now so more on that later.

I've been really art-obsessed for a quite a while now. See, this is the silly-annoying thing about me; I'm verrrry very passionate (or obsessive, if you like), so when I find something I like I have to get more and more of it until there's no more, or I get bored or something. So, art's been my obsession recently, particularly stuff by [info]binsybaby or B1nd1 on DeviantArt. If you want to look at pretty pictures, too, check out her and [info]buttfacemakani

That's all for now,

Au revoir.

PS. HAPPY (LATE) CANADA DAY!!

OH and I almost forgot: I might get to see Harry and the Potters in Vancouver, SQUEEEE!

WOMBAT Results

I got an E on my WOMBAT!!! (Wizarding Ordinary Magic and Basic Aptitude Test. The third and last one put up on JK Rowling's website, it's closed now, though) Eeeee!!

The poll isn't up on Leaky yet, so I don't know if E is good or not; last time most people got E's and this time the test was really hard but I doubt Jo would let anyone fail. Eee!! I'm so excited!! I'm waiting for Jo to put something on her site, though, to make a big update. I guess if there is going to be one (there better be... I mean, please??) we might have to wait a week or so for it. It would've been cool if she had put something up on the summer solstice, though (June 21st).

Um yeah, that's it right now. I might post again later.

Toodeloo!!

And the Rain Rain Rain Came Down Down Down

  • Jun. 24th, 2007 at 4:02 PM

I'm drinking hot chocolate. Seriously, I am, and it's the end of June! It's gray, rainy, and kinda chilly here. There was a clear blue sky this morning but it got covered up by the big gray clouds. It's not even raining lightly; it's pouring. I don't think there's been a rainless day for two weeks. Really makes it feel gloomy and un-summery. Yesterday I was so tired (even though I'd slept in, unusual for me) I slept in my room from 4-5:00 or so.

Today we braved the weather and went shopping, and got wet. We went to Wal-Mart and looked for fabrics because I want to make a robe for the book and movie releases this summer, but in the end didn't buy anything because it was going to be $50 and we decided we'd look at the Salvation Army or something first. I found a good wand-making tutorial thing online, so I'll have a wand, at least. I really want the whole costume (blouse, sweater, tie, skirt, stockings, etc.) but everything online is really too expensive so we either have to find it at, like, Wal-Mart, or make it. :(

I downloaded the Wicked soundtrack a couple weeks ago. It is indeed wicked. It seems really short compared to RENT, but it's still amazing. Idina Menzel (Maureen from the original RENT) was also the original Broadway Elphaba/Wicked Witch and I loooove her voice. The whole CD rocks. I sooo wish I could go see RENT and Wicked this summer.

Friday was the last day of school. Our whole grade went to the park and swam (swum??) in the outdoor pool, even though we all froze afterwards. Other than the swimming, we had pizza, and basically ran around the whole time. And one of the girls had written up her own Potter Puppet Pals skit. A big group of us (all girls) practised it a few times (without the puppets, though). I was Dumbledore. That was lots of fun. I had three lines then died.

That's all that's really new right now, or all I'll write for now, at least,

Catch ya later.

Hope everyone's summers are starting off better than mine! ;)
